DEPOK, Indonesia, Aug. 27, 2024 - SEBI School of Islamic Economics (STEI SEBI) in Depok has partnered with the Yayasan Kesejahteraan Madani (YAKESMA) foundation to launch a one-month Short Course program. The course will focus on the fundamentals of accounting, zakat, and waqf, as well as reinforce the PSAK 409 financial accounting standards.
The launch event was held virtually via Zoom, drawing participants and professionals from across Indonesia.
In his remarks, Wahyudi, the Trustee of YAKESMA, underscored the importance of a strong grasp of financial reporting in line with PSAK 409, especially for zakat administrators. "This Short Course is expected to help participants understand the basics of accounting and enhance their capabilities in financial management and reporting," he said.
Echoing this, Amir, the Branch Development Director at STEI SEBI, emphasized the pivotal role of quality education as the foundation for a nation's progress. He also commended the ongoing partnership between STEI SEBI and YAKESMA in providing scholarships and managing waqf funds, urging participants to continue learning and developing themselves.
This initiative is part of STEI SEBI's efforts to bolster human resource capacity in Islamic economics. Through the Short Course, participants will gain in-depth understanding of sharia-compliant accounting and the management of zakat and waqf. STEI SEBI is regarded as one of the pioneering models of Islamic economics colleges in Indonesia that are operated based on waqf and Islamic charitable funds.
