Depok, November 18, 2025 — On Tuesday, November 18, 2025, the Syariah Accounting Program at Institut Agama Isma (IAI) SEBI held a guest lecture for the Auditing 2 course, themed “Life as an Auditor: Technology and Technical Developments in Auditing.”
The guest speaker for this event was Hadi Sabilarosyad, M.Ak., CPA, a Partner at KAP Razikun Tarkosunaryo. During his presentation, he shared insights into the dynamics of the auditing profession, covering topics such as adapting to the work environment, necessary competencies in the professional field, and the diverse workplace cultures within the audit industry. He emphasized key skills that aspiring auditors should possess, including data analysis and effective communication.
The lecture also explored the significant evolution of audit practices. Key developments discussed included increased regulatory oversight, the shift from manual sampling methods to data-driven auditing, and new challenges emerging in the digital age. Hadi introduced various AI technologies and tools currently integrated into modern auditing processes, such as Mindbridge AI, CaseWare IDEA, ACL Analytics, Teammate Analytics, and DataSnipper.
Ethical considerations in the use of AI technology were also addressed. Hadi highlighted critical issues such as the potential for algorithmic bias, risks associated with personal data exposure, and the need for adherence to applicable regulations and compliance standards. Participants were reminded that future auditors must be able to collaborate with AI while retaining human oversight: “Man should manage AI, not be managed by AI.” This evolution necessitates new skills and an adaptive mindset.
The event attracted 60 students from the Syariah Accounting cohort of 2022–2024. The interactive nature of the session garnered enthusiastic participation, evident in the active discussions throughout.
With this guest lecture, the program aims to better prepare students for the evolving auditing profession and equip them with relevant competencies to meet industry demands in the digital era.
