Depok, April 23, 2025 – The SEBI School of Islamic Economics, in collaboration with Adira Finance Syariah, officially launched the Muslimpreneur Development Program (MDP), an initiative focused on fostering entrepreneurship rooted in Islamic values. The launch event took place at SEBI Hall on the SEBI campus in Depok, West Java, on Wednesday, April 23, and was attended by 118 participants. The event was also livestreamed on SEBI's YouTube channel.
The program commenced at 8:00 AM WIB with an opening by the MC, followed by a recitation of the Quran and the Indonesian national anthem. It continued with speeches from the organizers and partners.
Atiyah Fitri, S.Sos., M.Si., Head of the SEBI Entrepreneur Laboratory, expressed hopes that the MDP would serve as a strategic tool for nurturing ethical and professional young Muslim entrepreneurs. “This program aims to produce entrepreneurs who embody Sharia values, not only excelling in their professional endeavors but also possessing high vision, manners, and ethics,” she stated.
Bapak Sigit Pramono, Ph.D., CA., CPA, the Head of SEBI, emphasized the importance of integrating higher education with the development of the Islamic economy in Indonesia. “SEBI is committed to being a pioneer in producing Muslim entrepreneurs who are not only competent in business but also have strong moral and spiritual integrity. Through this MDP, we believe that dream can be realized,” Sigit noted.
From the industry side, H. Yusron, S.E., M.B.A, Head of Syariah at Adira Finance, expressed support for the program and highlighted opportunities for broader collaboration in the future. “We see tremendous potential in Indonesia’s young Muslim generation. This synergy with SEBI is a strategic first step towards nurturing young entrepreneurs based on Sharia principles,” Yusron remarked.
The event also featured keynote speaker Dr. Sutan Emir, M.B.A, Director of Sharia Ecosystem Infrastructure at the National Committee for Sharia Economy and Finance (KNEKS), who delivered a main address on “Developing Human Resources through Higher Education as Part of the Sharia Ecosystem Infrastructure Integration.” “The Sharia economic ecosystem must be built from upstream to downstream, with human resources as its foundation. Institutions like SEBI play a central role in shaping resilient, competitive Muslimpreneurs with high moral integrity,” Emir explained.
The next agenda item was the symbolic launch of the Muslimpreneur Development Program (MDP), officially inaugurated by Sigit Pramono, Ph.D., CA., CPA, along with Abdi Triyanto (Head of the Sharia Business Management Program), Atiyah Fitri (Head of SEBI Entrepreneur Laboratory), and representatives from Adira Finance Syariah. The launch was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Following this, a National Talkshow featured three speakers: Abdi Triyanto, H. Jevriadi Permata (Head of Syariah Branch SSD, Ciputat), and Siti Rochmawati (Assistant Director of the Sharia Economy and Finance Department at Bank Indonesia). The talkshow addressed the challenges and opportunities for young entrepreneurs in developing Sharia-compliant businesses.
The event concluded with a group prayer and a photo session with all participants and speakers.
