Depok, Indonesia – July 22, 2025 – On Monday, July 21, 2025, SEBI Institute successfully held a public lecture titled "Building the Ideological Resilience of Youth for National Progress" at its auditorium on Jl. Raya Bojongsari, Depok. The event, which ran from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM WIB, featured two prominent national figures as keynote speakers: Dr. H. Muhammad Hidayat Nurwahid, M.A. (Vice Chairman of MPR RI) and Dr. Al Muzzammil Yusuf, M.Si. (Member of DPR/MPR RI). The lecture was hosted by Sigit Pramono, Ph.D. (Rector of SEBI Institute).
In his presentation, Dr. Al Muzzammil Yusuf praised the development of the SEBI Institute and emphasized the importance of scholarly and practical connections as keys to national advancement. He clearly articulated the concept of Pancasila as a "Godly Constitution," rooted in divine values.
"The first principle, Belief in One God, serves as the spirit that colors the subsequent four principles," Dr. Muzzammil explained. He elaborated on how the value of divinity, particularly the Islamic principle of rahmatan lil alamin, fosters justice and civilized humanity, leading to the unity of Indonesia. This quality, in turn, will guide the people towards governance led by wisdom, ultimately achieving social justice for all Indonesians. He also outlined the five characteristics of a state of law mandated by the 1945 Constitution, including the supremacy of law and equality before the law as manifestations of justice.
Dr. Hidayat Nurwahid urged the audience to reflect on the historical formulation of Pancasila as a unifying ideology, where the Founding Fathers successfully merged nationalist, religious, and national thoughts. He commended Sukarno's skill in ensuring a fair composition of the Nine-Person Committee to achieve democratic compromise. "Pancasila is the ideology of statesmen that unites citizens and communities," he asserted.
Both speakers acknowledged the various challenges facing the nation today. Dr. Hidayat highlighted issues such as stunting, low literacy rates, and the emergency of online gambling and loans. Meanwhile, Dr. Muzzammil lamented the continuing practice of "wani piro" (money politics) in leadership elections, which undermines the ideals of the fourth principle of Pancasila.
Dr. Hidayat and Dr. Muzzammil emphasized the central role of the millennial generation in realizing Indonesia's Gold vision for 2045. They stressed this generation's strengths in information technology and data accessibility. Dr. Muzzammil specifically pointed out Article 31, Paragraph 3 of the 1945 Constitution—resulting from reforms—which aligns with SEBI's mission to produce superior human resources that enhance faith, piety, and noble character to educate the nation.
"You are the generation we are waiting for to fill the political superstructure of this nation," Dr. Muzzammil urged, to enthusiastic applause from the audience.
Sigit Pramono, Ph.D., the Rector of SEBI Institute, reaffirmed the campus's commitment to nurturing a generation of young Muslims who spread da'wah and advance Islamic economics in line with Pancasila values. He added that educational institutions like SEBI strive to equip students with knowledge, strong character, and noble ethics to become resilient entrepreneurs and future leaders.
This public lecture served as an important reminder that ideological resilience is not merely a slogan but a fundamental foundation for achieving national progress. Leaders from MPR/DPR RI and the Rector of SEBI hope that through strengthening Pancasila ideology and adequately preparing the youth, Indonesia will be able to overcome challenges and realize the vision of a just and prosperous Indonesia by 2045.
