The Islamic Banking Study Program at SEBI Institute has officially inaugurated its Islamic Banking Laboratory, enhancing practical learning opportunities for students. On Wednesday, November 19, 2025, the SEBI Institute launched the lab in collaboration with BMT Muamalah Mandiri in a ceremonial ribbon-cutting event.
The inauguration was attended by SEBI Institute Rector Dr. Sigit Pramono and other key officials, including the Head of the Islamic Banking Study Program, as well as Rika Iwawaty, Manager of BMT Muamalah Mandiri, and Supervisor Pujianto.
The Islamic Banking Laboratory is designed to bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world practices in the Islamic finance industry. The facility is equipped with hardware and software to simulate comprehensive banking operations, including teller counters, customer service areas, and contract rooms for practicing financing agreements.
In his speech, Dr. Sigit Pramono emphasized the importance of the lab, stating, “The Islamic Banking Laboratory, a collaboration with BMT Muamalah Mandiri, is expected to be an effective learning tool and to foster beneficial synergies for the community.”
The highlight of the event was the symbolic ribbon-cutting performed by Dr. Sigit Pramono, Rika Irawaty, Dr. Endang SE., MM., Rovi Octaviano Vustany, S.P, M.Si, Dr. Sepky Mardian, SEI, MM. SAS., Firmansyah, SEI, MM, and Arief Rachman Sudrajat, A.Md, marking the official commencement of operations for both the Islamic Banking Laboratory and BMT Muamalah Mandiri. Following the ceremony, guests toured the facility, hopeful that it will serve as a significant venue for Islamic banking practice and enhance the operational efficiency of BMT.
